The short version: Homegrown provides listings and a consent-controlled enquiry route. A host and grower decide whether to proceed, make their seasonal plot licence directly and pay each other directly. Homegrown is not the landowner, grower, insurer, payment provider or a party to that licence.

1. Agreement to these terms

By submitting a listing or enquiry, or using Homegrown to consider a proposed introduction, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not submit personal information or use the introduction service.

2. Eligibility and authority

3. What Homegrown provides

Homegrown provides an advertising, demand-registration and enquiry service for growing space. During the pilot, Homegrown may review basic authority and practical details and may propose an introduction when location and expectations appear compatible.

A listing is not an endorsement, booking, promise of availability or certification of a person or place. Homegrown does not conduct Garda vetting or background checks, guarantee suitability or safety, interpret insurance policies, hold deposits or collect plot-use payments.

4. Direct seasonal arrangements

If both adults want to proceed, the host and grower make a separate personal, seasonal, non-exclusive and non-transferable plot licence. The host retains overall possession, access and control. The parties decide the area, duration, access, permitted activities, fee or produce arrangement, notice and end-of-season arrangements.

Homegrown is not a party to that licence and does not act as agent for either party. Contact details are shared only after both people approve a specific proposed introduction.

5. Host responsibilities

A host is responsible for:

6. Grower responsibilities

A grower is responsible for:

7. Fees and payment

Pilot listings are currently free. Homegrown does not set or collect the host's plot-use fee, rent, deposit or produce share. Host and grower agree and settle any consideration directly. Any future Homegrown listing or membership charge will be clearly disclosed before it applies and will not be imposed retrospectively.

8. Safety, insurance and professional advice

No Homegrown host-liability policy is active. Homegrown is researching an optional product with an authorised insurer or broker, but that research does not provide present cover. Each host must obtain an answer about the exact proposed arrangement from their own insurer or broker before access begins.

Homegrown publishes general educational information, not individual legal, tax, planning or insurance advice. See the tax, insurance and legal guide and the host checklist.

9. Prohibited use

You must not use Homegrown for residential occupation, unlawful activity, misleading listings, harassment, discrimination prohibited by law, commercial activity not disclosed to the host, resale or transfer of access, or collection of another person's data for an unrelated purpose.

10. Content, suspension and removal

You retain responsibility for information and photographs you submit and confirm that Homegrown may use them to operate the requested listing or introduction. Homegrown may correct, refuse, suspend or remove a listing or enquiry that is inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, abusive, out of scope or inconsistent with these terms.

11. Availability and liability

The pilot is provided on an as-available basis. Homegrown does not guarantee a response, match, income, growing result or uninterrupted service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Homegrown is not responsible for a user's decision to meet, enter a plot licence, make a payment, use land or act on another user's information. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Privacy, changes and governing law

Personal data is handled under the Privacy Notice. Homegrown may update these terms as the pilot changes; a material update will receive a new effective date. These terms are governed by Irish law and disputes are subject to the courts of Ireland, without removing any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
